We operate a small-batch honey business, an honesty-box sales system and community swarm-collection support.

We aim to collect and retain only the personal information reasonably necessary to operate these activities.

We do not normally have access to your full payment card details.

Warton Honey uses essential cookies provided by Google Sites to operate securely and maintain site functionality. These cookies (such as AEC, SOCS, and __Secure‑ENID) help protect against fraud, preserve session integrity, and record consent preferences.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, and no tracking technologies are employed beyond those required for the site to function.

Visitors are not asked to accept or reject cookies because only strictly necessary cookies are used.

We do not use waiting-list information for unrelated marketing purposes.

7. Square payments

We use Square to process payments, including payments made through our honesty-box payment link.

Our current Square checkout may require customers to provide information such as:

Email address
Telephone number
Address

Square collects this information as part of its payment and checkout process.

Warton Honey does not need these customer contact details for the ongoing operation of the honesty box and does not use them for marketing purposes.

We retain only transaction and financial information that we reasonably need for accounting, tax, payment reconciliation, fraud prevention or other legal requirements.

Square may process customer information on our behalf as part of providing its services. Square may also process certain information for its own purposes as described in its privacy notice.

8. Sharing personal information

We do not sell personal information or provide it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share or allow access to personal information where reasonably necessary to operate Warton Honey or provide services to you, including with:

Square, for payment processing

Delivery or other service providers where necessary to fulfil an order
HM Revenue & Customs or other authorities where we are legally required to do so

Our website is hosted using Google Sites.

10. How long we keep personal information

We do not keep personal information for longer than we reasonably need it.

Our normal approach is:

Honey waiting-list information: retained while you remain on the waiting list so that we can contact you about the next batch of honey. You can ask us to be removed at any time.
Customer enquiries: normally retained for up to 12 months unless there is a continuing reason to retain them.
Collection arrangements: normally deleted once the arrangement has been completed and there is no continuing business or legal reason to retain them.
Swarm-collection enquiries: normally deleted once the request has been resolved.
Delivery information: normally deleted once an order has been fulfilled, unless there is another legitimate or legal reason to retain it.
Payment and accounting records: retained for as long as required to meet applicable tax, accounting and legal requirements.

For honesty-box payments, we do not intend to retain customer contact information such as name, address, telephone number or email for longer than is necessary for the payment transaction and any applicable legal or accounting requirements.

Where personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete it.

11. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

These measures include, where appropriate:

Password-protected accounts
Secure devices
Security measures provided by Square
Security measures provided by Google, WhatsApp and other service providers

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions appropriate to the information we hold.
